We know that there is nothing important that our body need quite like a holiday beak to recharge your batteries and, just because you need regular care, doesn’t mean you should have to go without a break no matter your age. Our holiday care service allows you the flexibility to take your carer with you, wherever you go, in the UK or abroad for work or pleasure.

Our holiday care service supports individuals who find it difficult to go on holiday due to the level of care and support that they need whilst away from home, often resulting in them not getting the break they want.

We can provide a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or a nurse to accompany you on holiday in the UK or abroad, to support you with your activities of daily living. This can be with you service user, or with your family and friends. Having the support of a professional Carer allows you and your family to relax, safe and peace of mind in the knowledge that you are getting the personal attention and support that you need to get the most out of your holiday.

Our service is tailored to your individual care requirements. Whether you have complex medical care requirements, personal care needs, we are confident in offering you a high quality care service.

Call-Out Service

If you are holidaying in the UK or abroad, and require care assistance, we can provide a hotel call-out service, arranging for a Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker to provide you with care and support including the administering of medication, during the day or night.

Holiday Care FAQs

What safeguards do you put in place to ensure my safety and well-being?

Because dementia is a degenerative condition we take the greatest possible care over your treatment plan, who delivers it and your feelings about it, from start to finish.

How soon can my care service start?

Our service can often commence within 48 hours of your initial enquiry. Upon receiving your enquiry we will arrange for Blessing Agencies Homecare service Assessor to visit you in your home and carry out a full assessment of your care requirements and a risk assessment to ensure your safety. A personalised care plan will be produced for you, which we will finalise with you and your family, making sure that you are happy with every aspect. We will select Carers to provide your care based on your needs, personality and preferences.

We understand that in a crisis situation you need us to react quickly to allow a care package to start immediately. In such circumstances we will simplify our service delivery process and carry out an immediate assessment in order to facilitate a faster response.

Do I need a Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker to support me?

To determine whether you will require the support of a Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker we will carry out a full care assessment, identifying exactly what your care requirements are. Carers are able to support you with everyday activities such as meal preparation and getting in and out of bed, however, a Nurse will support you with more complex requirements such as dressing wounds, administering complex medication, or making clinical judgements with regards to your pain relief. Should you wish to have support from a Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker at varying times, we will be more than happy to arrange this for you.

I don’t have a spare bedroom; can my Sleeping Night Carer sleep on the sofa?

When providing a Sleeping Night service, our Carers require a private room to sleep in. Should this not be available in your home it is negotiable with individual carers if they would be happy to have a portable bed in another room. They are not able to share a room with another person.

How will my Sleeping Night Carer hear me when I wake?

Although our Carers are in your home on a sleeping basis, they are aware of listening out for you should you need support. Our past experience has shown that audio monitors from your room to theirs have worked very well in ensuring you are heard and responded to quickly.

If I am receiving a Sleeping Night service, how long can my Carer stay awake with me if I need them in the night?

If we are providing a Sleeping Night service, we have a duty to ensure that our Carers receive an adequate level of sleep to ensure they can perform their duties throughout the day. As a result it is not safe for our Carers to be awake for extended periods of time throughout the night. An extended period of time is classed as anything more than 15 minutes at a time.

Should you feel that you require assistance for longer than this at any point throughout the night, your care package will be reviewed and it may be more suitable for you to be offered a Waking Night service

What if I wake my sleeping night Carer more than three times?

If you require attention more than three times per night our Carer will continue to support you, however the service provided will need to be reviewed in order to ensure safety levels are maintained. Should you require assistance more than 3 times a night on a regular basis, we will look to implement a Waking Night care package until you are feeling more settled. Our services can be reviewed and changed at short notice, ensuring you always receive the correct levels of care.

What will my Waking Night Carer do whilst I am asleep?

Your Carer will be able to support you with any care that you require through the night and complete tasks that you request to be completed whilst you are asleep.

Whilst you are sleeping your carer are able to complete tasks such as washing, cleaning and tidying. Our Carers will keep a daily record on any care they attend to in your home and this is available for you and any requested member of your family to see.

Can my Live-in Carer help me with my pets?

Whilst your Carer will do everything they can to support you, we can guarantee support with your pets as we provide the pet care services at Blessing Agencies. If you do require help with looking after your pets, we will do our utmost to match you with a Carer who feels comfortable doing so.

What if I require the support of my Live-in Carer during the night?

Your Carer can be called upon up to three times during the night. Should you feel you need more assistance during the night, your care service will be adapted to accommodate this. In such cases, it may be necessary for you to receive a 24 hour care service where you will have two different Carers, one providing support during the day and another caring for you through the night. Your care package will be regularly reviewed to ensure you continue to receive the level of support that you need.

Other Considerations

Blessing Agencies Ltd, fully complies with Outcome 4, Regulation 9 of the Care Quality Commission Guidance about compliance, Essential standards of Quality and Safety, which relates to the degree to which the registered manager of an company ensures that the risk of accidents and harm happening to service users and staff in the provision of the personal care is balanced against the promotion of the service user’s right to independence and choice.

At Blessing Agencies, we are familiar with the many concerns that our clients experience when they first call us. Changing your lifestyle and having a new person in your home in a big transition. We do all that we can to make this transition a pleasant and positive experience. Your Carers will be selected to match their qualifications and experience with your care requirements. You will also have the opportunity to meet with your potential Carers before the care assessment package start.

Whilst we do manage all aspects of your care, we do not assist with the booking process of your holiday. In order for Healthcare Assistant, Nurse or Support Worker to come away with you, you will need provide separate sleeping arrangements, food provision and provide an adequate level of holiday insurance.
